An inequality is a way of defining the relative site or order of two objects. To show that an unknown value is greater than a number, you would represent it as such:

x>5

Likewise, for less than:

x<10

If you combined these together, you would have this:

5<x<10

Which represents that x is greater than 5, but less than 10.
